Ask Before You Email: Don’t Waste a Recipient’s Time

Email marketing is an smart and effective way to build your small business. But it can also alienate a potential customer if not managed appropriately.

The average worker gets approximately 147 emails a day and deletes nearly half of them. In general it takes a little over three seconds to delete unwanted emails — over the course of a week that time adds up and eats into your productivity. Many of the emails that wind up in the trash are unsolicited which is annoying and a waste of the recipient’s time.
