Small Biz Healthcare Tax Credits — Not Working

The President’s budget includes a proposal to expand and simplify the current small business health care tax credit provided for in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).  During debate over PPACA, the Administration claimed 4 million small businesses would be helped by the tax credit. The reality is that only 360,000 are expected to have accessed the credit this past year.  SBE Council repeatedly communicated to the White and Congress that the tax credit was far too complex, undersized and restrictive to be helpful to small businesses. 2011
